It takes a lot to beat a Range Rover. In fact, for years the only real competition they had were themselves. Today however, the Premium SUV sector is the fastest growing in the market with more manufactures throwing their hats in the ring than ever before, and more demand from the consumer for comfort, design and tech.

Some would say imitation is the greatest form of flattery and it would seem that Range Rover have taken this rise in competition in their stride, after all they are the originators and have decades of experience in this arena growing from strength to strength with every new generation.

The fourth generation Range Rover, codenamed L405, was exhibited in September 2012 at the Paris Motor Show and was widely well received. This promised to be an entirely new car from the ground up, with a redesigned cabin, new infotainment interface, a sleek new exterior silhouette and perhaps most importantly, an all-aluminium monocoque body structure resulting in a reduction of 420 kg compared to its predecessor.
