2022 Ferrari Roma
Information

On the 14th of November 2019 Ferrari unveiled what was to be a brand-new model in their lineup: a front-mid engine V8 2+2 GT using a shared platform with the existing Portofino.

Like the Portofino, it is named after an Italian commune. However, this time (perhaps more importantly) after the country’s capital, Rome. So, where better to unveil this brand-new Ferrari than the great city itself (spectacular even by Ferrari’s standards) and at the same time sprinkle on a little more Italian flair and promote the Roma as “La Nuova Dolce Vita”.

“La Nuova Dolce Vita” you might ask? I have to admit, it was also a little lost on me at first, but when Ferrari explain that the Roma is “a contemporary representation of the carefree, pleasurable way of life that characterised Rome in the 1950s and ‘60s” it all starts to make sense.

Its elegantly flowing lines are a distant nod to an era from which produced some of the marques most beautiful and iconic cars such as the 250 Lusso and the 275 GTB, a moment in time when things were a little more carefree and, dare I say it, classy.

And it wouldn’t be a Ferrari without performance to match; the Roma’s 3.9 litre blown V8 produces a potent 612BHP which will launch you from 0-60 in just 3.4 seconds.

Here’s what the journalists have to say:

EVO – “Direct, engaging handling and superb ride quality, plus strong performance: the sharp-suited Roma nails its GT brief” *****

CAR – “The Roma’s the Ferrari we didn’t know we wanted but, now that it’s here, want it we most certainly do.” *****

Auto Express – “The Roma displays the level of usability and comfort that a GT car needs but blends it with Ferrari’s characteristic sports car feel.”
